Statuevision: Glasgow, Scottland

Statuevision: Glasgow was presented at  AMC Creativity and Cognition 2015, hosted by the School of Art in Glasgow. During the three day conference, local historical statues were 3D scanned and converted into digital models. Statuevision: Glasgow took the form of an interactive performance that re-contextualized Glasgow’s iconic statues in a virtual space.  Participants were invited to navigate through the projected environment using their hands, in a custom leap motion interface. The virtual statues were manipulated and animated by participants, resulting in a collaborative continuous animation of Glasgow’s historical figures. The project generated a database of 3D models available for free download, and a map containing the location and historical information about each statue represented.
